Pope Getting Nutrition From Tube in Nose (Victor L. Simpson, AP, 3/30/05)

Pope John Paul II is getting nutrition from a tube in his nose, the Vatican said Wednesday, shortly after the frail pontiff appeared at his window in St. Peter's Square and managed only a rasp when he tried to speak.

I know this is different than the Schiavo siuation but I wonder if we will begin to see the "let him die" crowd start chiming in on the Pope.

I've often wondered, if Christophere Reeve was still alive, what would his reaction be to all of this. I don't think that he was able to feed himself. At one time, he was the darling of the left-let there be stem cell research to save this man.

Actually, what would Judge Greer (and the police) do if the Pontiff flew to FL and walked into the hospice to give Terri a drink of water?

The real issue is that the Pope is probably incapable of fulfilling his duties. The Church has no leadership, and it has shown. He should retire.
