LET THE CONVERSATION BEGIN:

Conversationalists (Jim Siegel)

This blog's premise is to strengthen connections between people by stimulating respectful conversations about ethical behavior and religion, politics, American culture, etc. We may believe differently. We may agree to disagree. That's fine, because what's most important is not what we believe or who we are or who our parents were, but how we choose to act. Your comments will make this blog thrive.

Brother Siegel has written here several times but has his own blog now and it looks to be an invaluable place to converse about the issues that unite and divide people of faith.

Thanks for the inspiring and well wrought posts, Jim.

And apologies for this quibble; but it would be more accurate to say that they're named after the first "significant" word (or words) in the portion, not necessarily the very first word.

note: Torah portions are named after the first Hebrew word of the portion.

Gotta add that one to the "Bookmarks" file.

Barry, I noted the same when I read the article. It is the first word rather than the 1st significant one.
