DUH?:

These men run IRA, says Dublin (IAN GRAHAM, 2/21/05, The Scotsman)

GERRY Adams and Martin McGuinness last night stood accused by the Irish government of being members of the IRA’s ruling Army Council.

Michael McDowell, the Irish justice minister, said the Sinn Fein president and chief negotiator - both MPs - and Martin Ferris, who sits in the Irish parliament, were three of the members of the seven-man council.

In a separate attack, the former Irish Prime Minister Albert Reynolds said the IRA must disband and Sinn Fein must take a bold step forward into the democratic peace process in Northern Ireland.

Talk is cheap--arrest them or shoot them.

The Fianna Fail is an IRA-based party too, and any serious attempt at enforcing anti-terrorism laws against 'the boys' is political suicide.

I thought you would run this one as another Bush/Blair victory in the GWOT, just one of those coincidences that just seem to happen these days.

one of my sweetest memories from the 80's was when the SAS popped an ira team in gibraltar. the fact that the uk left any of these scumbags alive is a testament to the corruption of their system. who benefits from that ? "vote for me or the gerryman will get you"

Just more turmoil over the peace process that the IRA began over 10 years ago when they first announced their cease fire. Considering both Adams and McGuinness are primarily responsible for turning the IRA away from the armalite and towards the ballot box, arresting them makes little sense unless it's some Orwellian designed black op to secretly promote them as OJ's thesis on Chalabi is.

Gerry Adams has never been anything but Arafat with a better tailor.
