DOES ANYONE EDIT THE TIMES?:
Wherefore Art Thou, Clint? (MAUREEN DOWD, 2/06/05, NY Times)
A friend of mine e-mailed me Friday to see if I wanted to go to the Folger Theater production of "Romeo and Juliet."I e-mailed him back, fretting: Doesn't that play promote suicide?
You'd not expect Ms Dowd to grasp the point, but if anyone edited the Times anymore they might have told her that Shakespeare thought it a tragedy not a triumph. Posted by Orrin Judd at February 6, 2005 9:13 AM

She particularly likes Julius Caesar because of its pro-euthanasia statement.

Posted by: jim hamlen at February 6, 2005 1:05 PMRomeo would certainly have had Dowds about her ... and her stance on youth in Asia would not have helped any.

Posted by: Rudy at February 6, 2005 11:30 PMNo, Jim, but she'd be a challenging shrew to tame.
