Castro Says U.S. to Blame if Chavez Assassinated (Anthony Boadle, 2/12/05, Reuters)

Cuban President Fidel Castro warned the United States Saturday against plotting to kill his most important ally, Venezuela's leftist President Hugo Chavez.

"I say to world public opinion: if they assassinate Chavez, the responsibility will fall squarely on the president of the United States, George W. Bush," Castro said.

Still....

Q: How do we know for certain that the CIA had nothing to do with the death of President Kennedy?

A: He's dead, ain't he?

How about a twofer: Castro and Chavez.

What is Castro plotting?

We should put Hugo's head in Castro's bed.

If something nasty happens again in this country, we should take out Castro as part of our response. Even if it can be proved that he had nothing to do with it, it would reinforce the message to everyone else that no one is immune, and, like Saddam, that if make yourself a big enough pest you are just moving your name to the top of the list, even if belatedly. And it would also be a message to thugs everywhere that self-interest requires you to rat out your fellow thugs who might be up to no good.

Castro's head in Hugo's bed. More impact that way.

Why would the CIA want to kill Chavez? Is he making it more difficult to smuggle drugs into America?
