CAN'T ANYBODY HERE PLAY THIS GAME?:

Hamilton didn't have a field day (Paul Harber, January 8, 2005, Boston Globe)

Richard Hamilton had no idea he set an NBA record Thursday night when his defending champion Detroit Pistons were thrashed at home by Memphis, 101-79.

Hamilton became the first player in NBA history to lead his team in scoring without making a shot from the field. All 14 of his points came on free throws.

The NBA can't go the way of the NHL fast enough.

On the plus side, he did make all 14 of the free throws that he attempted.

It's like soccer without pan bagnat, which is the only reason I would ever watch a soccer match in person.

But can we handle the ensuing crime wave when all those miscreants are put out in the street?

Lots of raw talent in the NBA but precious few skills. Never a big fan, I quit watching years ago except for the Bulls in the playoffs during the Jordan years. It's just too painful to watch.

I rather miss NHL

AML:

If for no other reason than NHL games will cut down on the "World Series of Poker" reruns on ESPN2.

The reruns are annoying, because you know the results, but I can watch poker any time of the day or night.

Amen. Basketball could be a really fun game.
