Despite Drop in Crime, an Increase in Inmates (FOX BUTTERFIELD, 11/08/04, NY Times)
The number of inmates in state and federal prisons rose 2.1 percent last year, even as violent crime and property crime fell, according to a study by the Justice Department released yesterday.

Fox Butterfield's claim to fame was releasing the name of the woman with the blue dot over her face during the William Smith trial. He's a Kennedy buttboy so the MSM will always have a place for him, no matter how dopey he may be.
Posted by: Bart at November 9, 2004 6:50 AMFox wrote the William Kennedy-Smith article, but the name doesn't see print unless it's cleared -- or even demanded -- in print by his editor or even those higher up in the paper's food chain. That doesn't make Butterfield an innocent, but things like that, or like the latest version of cognitive disconnect on crime rates and prison populations, are ideas that are pandemic though the building on West 43rd Street.
