"YOU KNOW WHERE YOU STAND WITH GEORGE":
Anti-Kerry remarks by Labour MP put Blair on the spot (Patrick Hennessy, 31/10/2004, Daily Telegraph)
[Gisela Stuart, the former health minister] claimed that a Kerry victory over President George W. Bush would prompt "victory celebrations among those who want to destroy liberal democracies".Writing in The House Magazine, the parliamentary journal, the Labour MP for Birmingham Edgbaston wrote: "More terrorists and suicide bombers would step forward to become martyrs in their quest to destroy the West."
In another dig at the Democratic challenger, she wrote: "You know where you stand with George and, in today's world, that's much better than rudderless leaders who drift with the prevailing wind."
Mr. Kerry was windsurfing and couldn't be reached for comment. Posted by Orrin Judd at October 30, 2004 10:04 PM
As fun as it is to read, foreign Bush supporters have as much right as foreign Kerry supporters to make their 2¢ known to American voters, which is to say, none whatsoever.

They have the right to speak and we have the right to ignore them. More importantly, this was Blair talking through one of his loyalists.
Posted by: Bart at October 31, 2004 6:39 AMBut then Blair's wife bashed Bush at Wharton. So it's even. Fair and balanced doncha know.

Cherie Blair is a wealthy left-wing twit who considers Tony to be a 'cabana boy' and does not toe the 'Tony Blair' line.
The situation may seem strange to Americans but the Brits don't seem to much mind.

You can say many things about Blair, but he's no gigolo or intellectual cipher.
Posted by: Bart at October 31, 2004 10:17 AMNot really. She's very capable in her own right.
Although a little muddle-headed when it comes to political issues.
