PETER Garrett shed his rock star title last night to take up a new job as a federal MP while millionaire businessman Malcolm Turnbull won the bitter battle for the Sydney seat of Wentworth.

And yeah, good band. The fact that their politics has had negligible influence makes them that much easier to listen to.

He was parachuted into a safe Labour seat where he hopes to parlay his fame into political stardom.
