THE SPIRIT OF BESLAN (via Matthew Cohen):
Belgium considers euthanasia for children (Reuters, September 08, 2004)
Belgian lawmakers belonging to Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt's ruling Flemish Liberal party have introduced a bill seeking to expand the country's controversial euthanasia legislation to include minors.Posted by Orrin Judd at September 8, 2004 10:33 PMSenators Jeannine Leduc and Paul Wille said in the bill that terminally ill children and teenagers had as much right to choose when they wanted to die as anyone else.
Any more enlightened and they'll be hooking up Kevorkian machines to the umbilical cord right after any child with a birth defect is born.
Posted by: John at September 8, 2004 11:27 PMFortunately Flemish voters are practicing euthanasia on the Liberal party, which dropped to 19 % from 25 % in the last elections and lost it position as largest Flemish party to the moderately conservative Christian-Democrats. If the party continues to behave like Liberals in the American sense of the word (instead of the European sense, which is far more conservative), they'll face an even bigger defeat next time.

And a little selective application might provide a Solution to their Muslim Problem, non?
