THE NEW DEMOCRATIC MANTRA--SELF-PITY:
Friend H. D. Miller reads Michael Moore so we don't have to.
Posted by Orrin Judd at September 20, 2004 6:47 PMThe gnashing of teeth on the left that will follow the election will truly be something to behold. I'm reminded of a post-election cover of The New Republic in 1988, showing a scrum of Democrats fighting, one saying "He should have promised universal VCR repair!"
Posted by: PapayaSF at September 20, 2004 7:50 PMI'm of two minds on the post-election meltdown. On one hand, nothing could be more fun. On the other hand, it only takes one or two seriously crazy tin-foil hat people to turn an entertaining lefty imlosion into a tragedy, ranging anywhere from suicides to assasinations to terrorism. Maybe I'm off a bit, but the things that various dems have been saying strike me as just off-balanced enough.
Posted by: Timothy at September 20, 2004 7:55 PMWhacked out political crazies rarely compare, after their candidate loses an election, to sports fans in Detroit or Chicago when their teams win a championship, what with the looting, rapes, stabbings, and burning cars.
If anyone was so worked up over Bush to seriously want to kill him, why haven't they attempted it yet ?
My guess is that nothing of much import will occur, from domestic opposition anyhow.

After considering your Masada analogy, I'm of the mind that there's no downside to the loony left committing mass suicide.
Not only are they so divorced from reality and logic that they produce no works of intellect worth considering, but they're also far more likely than the loony right to be living off of the taxpayers.
You really think that putting John Kerry in front of the American people, unscripted, with a poker player at his throat the whole time is a bad thing?
Posted by: Timothy at September 20, 2004 11:07 PMThat's a great blog Mr Miller.
