MUST HE MAKE IT SO EASY?:

Bush Says Kerry's Using Old Dean Lines (PETE YOST, 9/07/04, AP)

President Bush on Tuesday accused rival John Kerry of changing positions on the Iraq war by adopting the language of one-time presidential candidate Howard Dean when Kerry called the conflict "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Kerry's criticism came Monday during a campaign stop. Dean had used such phrasing in early 2003 when he was the Democratic candidate most critical of the war. At the time, Kerry took a more moderate stand, criticizing the president for failing to build a broader coalition of allies but not condemning the war altogether.

Kerry "woke up yesterday morning with yet another new position, and this one's not even his own; it is that of his one-time rival, Howard Dean," Bush told thousands of supporters Tuesday at a rally in the Kansas City suburbs.


We're not far away from hearing Mr. Kerry use Mr. Dean's most famous line.

South Dakota? Given that Thune is looking good to win, that might not be such a good idea. Daschle isn't going to want to hitch his wagon to the Kerry star (or is it a black hole?).

actually your all behind the curve as he just said on cnn when commenting about the 1000th dead during the war in iraq that 'they died in the war on terrorism' boy this guy really moves

actually wolf blitzer looked like he was in shock after hearing but as a true MSM said nothing.. jees kerry is really nuts adn needs adult supervision

Do you reallu think Kerry has enough emotion in him to emulate Dean's line? I'd figure he'd get some of the hired help like Sasso or Lockhart to do it for him.

The 'wrong war, wrong place, wrong time' quote--which Sen. ForAgainst rejected when Dean used it--was, of course, originally spoken by Eisenhower in '54...about Vietnam.
