IDIOT/EVIL GENIUS/IDIOT/EVIL...:
Mr. Bush's Acceptance Speech (NY Times, 9/03/04)
When President Bush accepted his party's nomination last night, he energetically presented himself as the man who could keep America safe in a time of international terrorism. His handlers believe that is the key to his re-election.
Are we really back to Mr. Bush is a "handled" man? Who could watch him describe what 9-11 and the war have meant to him and think he's not the one who's consumed by this mission? Posted by Orrin Judd at September 3, 2004 12:30 AM
I'm surpsised the Times got this editorial out, considering the cruise missile Bush fired into Gail Collins' office from 10 blocks away tonight.

Actually, I think the Times' presses were on autopilot, printing this while they were still digging themselves out from under the rubble.
Posted by: Joe at September 3, 2004 5:15 AMDoes anyone who actually watched glimpes of both conventions, and obviously especially Bush and Kerry have any doubt as to who they would rather have lead our country.
Bush, Guliani, Arnold, Cheney, Pataki, FRanks, Romney, Dell, and er well McCain
Kerry, Albright, Wesley Clark, Pelosi, Clinton, Clinton, Carter, Gore, Tereza, Edwards and Kennedy.
Questions??
Posted by: neil at September 3, 2004 7:53 AMThere is no good reason to pay attention to the formerly respectable NY Times.
Posted by: Pilgrim at September 3, 2004 9:48 AMI think this was written before the convention even started, so they didn't see his speech.
