BEHIND EVERY SUCCESSFUL MAN...
Heinz Kerry Bashes Health Care Plan Foes (Greensboro News Record, September 8th, 2004))
Teresa Heinz Kerry says "only an idiot" would fail to support the health care plan proposed by her husband, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.Kerry's proposal includes health care subsidies for children, the unemployed, small companies and others as well as government assistance to insurers and employers that hold down premiums for workers.
"Only an idiot wouldn't like this," Heinz Kerry told the Intelligencer Journal of Lancaster for a story in its Thursday editions. "Of course, there are idiots."
To be administered by an exciting new
department that will be the last word in post-modern bureaucratic thinking.
Department of Wellness, I believe. Gosh, she's smart! I wonder what she has in mind for all those idiots?
Posted by: Tom C, Stamford,Ct. at September 9, 2004 1:29 PMLet's see - Sharon Bush is denying she ever said to Kitty Kelly that Bush used coke, the newly found documents against Bush's TANG service are being called forgeries, and Teresa is calling people idiots. Another successful day for the Kerry campaign.
Posted by: AWW at September 9, 2004 1:36 PMJust as the Clintonites were trying to lock the candidate away, his loony wife broke loose and found herself a microphone to utter some nonsense. The Incredible Flipflopping Kerry Circus is becoming very amusing indeed.
Posted by: Peter at September 9, 2004 1:59 PMKelley can't even get on CNN with Larry King. I guess she'll be on with Keith Olbermann and watched by an audience made up mostly of their relatives.
A health care policy that divides people into classes and subsidizes them based on their membership in a privileged class. Boy, that's original. Is that precisely what got us where we are in the first place?
Posted by: Bart at September 9, 2004 2:06 PMBush probably did use coke, but so what ?
Clinton was a big coke user while in Arkansas, and it didn't seem to affect his Presidency.
Unless one is an addict, recreational drug use, while distasteful, isn't a disqualifier for high office.
Posted by: Michael Herdegen at September 9, 2004 2:49 PMIt's almost worth hoping Teresa gets to give the concession speech on Nov. 2 instead of her husband.
Posted by: John at September 9, 2004 4:02 PMIt's a matter of the historical record - and GWB has admitted as much himself - that he was a hellraiser in the 1970's. Considering the climate of the times, it's no stretch to credit that he might have expermiented with cocaine and marijuana and such-like substances in those days. The question, though, that _really_ counts is, what has he done with himself since he turned his life around, got religion and got off the sauce?
