WHY ARE THE JOHNS EVEN BOTHERING TO CAMPAIGN OUT THERE?:

Iowans back ban on gay marriage (UPI, 8/09/04)

Nearly two-thirds of Iowa adults surveyed in the latest Iowa Poll say they want the state's ban on gay marriage to remain in place.

This might help push Iowa into Bush's corner which he barely lost in 2000. Then again I believe Iowa is more anti-war than other midwest states so that would work against him.

By "there", do you mean everywhere between California and New York?

brian:

Yes. The whole fiasco with Edwards going back to Lawrence KS because their train didn't stop the day before just smacks of an injured Nixon (he'd banged his knee up) trying to get to all 50 states because of a stupid pledge to do so in 1960.

The Missouri vote was so overwhelming that the media was either deliberately suppressing information about how popular the ban was in the polls or the it was completely out of the blue.

Honestly, that was a 70% vote. That is a complete blowout.

Among the many questions I would like to see Kerry asked at the debates would be if he feels and or all of the four Massachusetts Supreme Court members who voted to allow gay marraiges in the state are qualified to be nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mangled syntax hilarity would no doubt ensue until the two minute time limit was up.
