Mr. Cohen;

Isn't that like punishing a kid who refused to eat his brussel sprouts with no more brussel sprouts?

Well, actually, Sharon (graciously?) presented Chirac with a political opportunity (French honor offended, France victimized by foreign meddling, etc., etc.,) that Chirac would have been foolish not to take advantage of.

He may be crooked, but he's no fool. (And for the moment, at least, he still has his clothes on, threadbare though they may be.)

President Chirac is simply treating Prime Minister Sharon in the same fashion that all Jews in France are being treated. Why should Sharon be treated any differently than the Jews who actually live in France? He is, after all, the prime minister of a s****y little country responsible for all the evil that has befallen Chirac's good Muslim friends.

Chirac = Petain (minus the military career).

Well-played, Mr. Sharon, but why is your foreign ministry now babbling on about your remarks being taken out of context and misinterpreted?
