Large Explosions Rock Fallujah in Iraq (AP, 6/22/04)

Large explosions rocked Fallujah late Tuesday in the same area as a U.S. airstrike last weekend, witnesses said. The Americans said the weekend attack was against a safehouse of Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's movement.

Now they have the Iraqi government doing press conferences saying that foreign terrorists were the ones killed. It's a lot harder for the press to spin that.

The reports do not sound like they are coming from a place where the anti-Sadr folks are in control. Just the reverse, in fact.

Why this is supposed to be a good thing is a mystery to me.

But then, I would have supposed that suicide bombers were a wasting asset, and that doesn't seem to be the case either.

They really are not like us.
