NO WONDER DALEY HATES HIM...:

Democratic governor defends voting twice for Reagan (AP, June 11, 2004)

Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the highest-ranking Democrat in state government, defended voting Republican in the 1980 and 1984 presidential races, saying Ronald Reagan was the best person to handle the nation's foreign affairs.

"I didn't agree with a lot of his positions on domestic policy,'' Blagojevich said Friday. ``I agreed very strongly on his foreign policy. I thought a strong foreign policy against the Soviet Union was exactly the way to go, that you should deal from strength against tyranny.''

Reagan, who died last week at 93, succeeded at courting votes across party lines. The term ``Reagan Democrats'' was coined to describe conservative Democrats who supported him.

At a memorial service Thursday in Reagan's boyhood hometown of Dixon, Blagojevich announced he had ``a confession to make. ... I was one of those Reagan Democrats.'

Well, the IL Democratic Party doesn't seem to like him much, maybe he should switch officially?

Governor Blow-Dry? Please.

There's family politics here, his FIL is Ald. Mell (?) who's an adversary of Daley.

Until the combine is broken, we're doomed. Vallas came close, but lost it in southern IL. I crossed over to vote for him, he's a good man.

Illinois politics is a cesspool. Blago is no lily floating there...

"Sonny Boy" is his daddy-in-law's puppet.

We're also blessed with "Daddy's Girl", Lisa Madigan, our Attorney General and the daughter of Mike "That's My Money!" Madigan, speaker of the House. I think she still sits on his knee.

If anyone can translate the above comments into standard American English, I would appreciate it.

I don't have a translation, but "lily floating on top of cesspool" has a nice ring to it.
