CROSS HIM OFF THE SHORT LIST:
Iowa Governor Vetoes Unborn Victims Bill (Paul Nowak, May 18, 2004, LifeNews.com)
Governor Tom Vilsack (D) vetoed the Iowa Unborn Victims bill, one of 17 bills he rejected on Friday. Vilsack is one of a handful of leading political figures pro-abortion Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry is considering as his running mate.
You can't spend the campaign defending a decision that 70% of the American people disagree with. Posted by Orrin Judd at May 20, 2004 7:23 AM
Doesn't California, for example, have a similar law in the books? (I am not sure.) But if so, how can a Gray Davis or even an Arnold can find it reasonable to sign such a bill, in the Left Coast, and Vilsack have a problem with it in Iowa? Litmus test indeed...

The only people who will hear about it are pro-life and pro-abortion activists.
You don't have to defend it if you can bury it. I'd actually say this increases his chances of becoming vp.
