Koizumi swipe at 'terrorists' downplayed (REIJI YOSHIDA, 4/15/04, Japan Times)

Government officials tried to play down allegations Wednesday that Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi has prolonged the crisis over three Japanese being held hostage in Iraq by calling their captors "terrorists."

Japan Times is behind the times. The families of the hostages now have "no comment." One of the Iraqi bloggers posted a rumor it was a setup, and he could have been right, they may be in Jordan. I also seem to recall the females sent a message about something big coming up and she was an anti-war activist.
