Doesn't a great rivalry have to have BOTH sides win every now and then? How exactly is the Yankees-Red Sox "rivalry" any different than the "rivalry" between, say, the Oklahoma and Kansas football teams?

(Other than the fact that 90% of the national media are either from or live in New York or Boston.)
