SADDAM SIGHED, "IF ONLY...":

Meet The Press (NBC, 3/21/04)

NBC'S TIM RUSSERT: "Was John Kerry wrong to vote authorization for war?"

SEN. TED KENNEDY (D-MA): "Look, he has explained his position. If John Kerry had been president of the United States with that vote, we never, I don't believe, gone to war, certainly not at that time. He would have worked through the inspection system. He would have worked through the international kinds of system, and I don't personally believe that we would have gone to war."

But now, according to Ted, President Kerry would be able to get our friends to send troops to Iraq and take the lion's share of the casualties.

How sad is it for Democrats that they now count on a man who couldn't explain why he should be President to explain why John Kerry should be President?

According to Teddy's defense; Kerry would have done nothing at all beyond tawk, tawk, tawk!

Wouldn't have had a war in Afghanistan, either--just sent a few extradition requests.

Kerry would have relied upon the same system of inspections that completely failed to catch Iraq's nuclear programme in '91, failed to detect NKo's nuclear programme before they tested a nuclear device in '98, failed to detect the location of Libya's nuclear weapons programme, and failed to discover Pakistan's Abdul Qadeer Khan sale of nuclear technology to Iran, Libya, and North Korea ?!?

How comforting.

Thanks a bunch Ted! What are you gonna do next, offer to drive him to his next campaign rally?
