KENYA? (via Casey Abell):
Kerry to answer sex affair claim (PHILLIP COOREY, February 14, 2004, news.com.au)
At the centre of the allegations is Alex Polier, 24, who had worked as a New York-based reporter for Associated Press. She now is now in Kenya. Her parents, Donna and Terry, speaking from Malvern, Pennsylvania yesterday, said there was no evidence of an affair, only that Senator Kerry may have been attracted to their daughter.
Mr Polier said Senator Kerry had called his daughter "two or three years ago" to ask her to work on his re-election team. She declined.
"I think he's a sleaze-ball," Mr Polier told London's Sun newspaper.
Mrs Polier claimed Senator Kerry was "after" her daughter.
Hard to see where the "I'm a stalker not an adulterer" defense gets him.

My fifteen minutes in the blogosphere! Anyhoo, the real probalem for Kerry is the Mrs. She's on record as having threatened mayhem and mischief if her boy ever strayed.
If she does the Tammy Wynette thing, this mess shouldn't derail Kerry's nomination. If she spouts to an interviewer that John-boy is an aging tomcat, he's got problems. Even I-have-a-scream Hoho looks pretty Presidential compared to that.
Bill Clinton was able to survive the Gennifer Flowers conniption because Hillary did the loyal wife routine, and the story was plausibly deniable. But with the, er, volatile Theresa in the mix, plus an outraged father calling you a sleazebag, Kerry could be in serious trouble. And he's no Clinton in the charm department, either.
Posted by: Casey Abell at February 13, 2004 11:16 AM"Nuts and sluts" defense is possible -- Clinton tried it with Monica, but the blue dress ruined his plans.
Of course, since this woman is employed by the Associated Press, for the media to go along with that sort of defense would mean to cast out one of their own to the wolves (and given the AP's stories about Kerry so far via John Solomon, a case could even be made that the news agency already has it in for the Senator for Massachusettes even before any "trash the victim" strategy is played).
Posted by: John at February 13, 2004 12:15 PMBut Bill had something Hillary wanted. Theresa, OTOH, if she does not get to be first lady, well, that's a whole different kettle of fish, and who is going to pay off that mortgage then?
