'Chemical weapons' found in Iraq (BBC, 1/10/04)
Danish troops have found dozens of mortar rounds in southern Iraq which could contain chemical weapons according to initial tests. It's amazing that the left has put themselves into a position that, if proved true, this is devastating news to them. Posted by David Cohen at January 10, 2004 3:52 PMThe 36 120mm shells appeared to have been buried for at least 10 years, the army said.
The left will deny its importance, and they will even recycle all the old Clinton-Gore-Daschle-Levin-Kennedy quotes to assure us that their leaders dealt with the situation in 1998.
But it won't help Howard Dean - one picture of a blister shell is worth a thousand words from the spider hole.
What will be even more damning is when WMD are found in Syria or Lebanon, with Iraqi pedigrees. There are enough sensible, honest opponents of the war who will nod and say, 'yes, they were real'. The MoveOn wailers won't care, but they are out of touch with reality.
Watch this story as it compares to the media play being given Paul O'Neill this weekend. I wonder if Greenspan (his old friend) has anything to do with his book?
