Hillary attacks 'extremist' Bush (The Age, December 6, 2003)
Hillary Clinton launched a withering attack on US president George Bush accusing him of pursuing an "extremist agenda".The New York Democratic Senator and wife of former president Bill Clinton accused Bush of "making America less free, fair, strong, smart than it deserves to be in a dangerous world".
In an interview with the Houston Chronicle she called the Bush administration "radical".
She said that under Bush's rule there was a threat to the "central pillars of progress in our country during the 20th century".
Since his election Bush had taken a "hard-right turn to pursue an extremist agenda," Clinton said.
She went on: "I don't know where it came from, but the fact is that this President Bush has not only been radical and extreme in terms of Democratic presidents but in terms of Republican presidents, including his own father.
"We have to change direction before irreparable harm is done."

She's stepping up the beat and heat on Dean. Will she run as a conservative ... since Bush has now been branded as a progressive liberal radical? Or is this just another case of misunderestimating him? I wonder how she'll look in a tankers helmet?

Perhaps a coded plea for help to our black-robed lords and masters, perhaps a mere Freudian slip by Yale Law grad Hillary.

She's going to have to walk this tight rope very carefully. On the other hand, as previous posts pointed out, she may well have no choice.
