COWBOY UP:

Boston - [Oakland] (with apologies to M. T. McGreevy, whose song, Boston - Pittsburg appeared in the Rooter's Souvenir, October 1903, and thanks to Louis P. Masur's terrific book, Autumn Glory: Baseball's First World Series)

No. 1.

Boston, [Oakland]
Who are we?
We are the rooters for [20]03
We will win,
Go tell your pa,
We Beaneaters, Beaneaters,
Rah! Rah! Rah!

No. 2.

Five games, Five games
We want five
We are here and all alive.
Biff! Bang! Bang, Bang, Bang!
Zim! Zam! Zam, Zam, Zam!

No. 3.

In the good old summer time,
Our Boston Base Ball Nine
Beat the teams--east and west,
Now they're first in line.
The [Oaklands] they are after us,
O me! O me! O my!
We'll do them as we did the rest
In the good old summer time.

Yeah, the Cubbies are real Corkers. Red Sox in 6 over the Marlins.

Sandy P:

Jefferson Park sounds like an embittered (White) Sox fan - almost but not quite redundant - stuck in the hell of the North Side who would rather lose all 162 games than see the Cubs win the Series. We all know the type in Chicago.

Unfortunately, I am out of the country while this history-making event took place, but it seems like the fans ought to settle down a bit. Paraphrasing Bill Walsh, the fans ought to act like they have been there before. Uh, on second thought, never mind.

GO CUBS!
