WAR SUCKS...GET OVER IT:

US raid 'may have caused deaths' (BBC, 3/26/03)
A bombing raid in Baghdad may have caused civilian casualties, the United States central command has acknowledged.

It said the US-British coalition used precision-guided weapons to target Iraqi missiles and launchers on Wednesday.

However the missiles were placed in a residential area less than 100 metres (300 feet) from homes, the US central command said in a statement.

Iraqi officials say at least 14 people were killed in a busy residential area of northern Baghdad during an air raid on the city.

The reality is that if we were trying to take out Iraqi missile positions, the civilians are acceptable collateral damage. Posted by Orrin Judd at March 26, 2003 2:45 PM

The reality is that we have been trying very hard not to kill civilians, possibly at the risk of coalition forces. We are doing a damn fine job of it, too. We could be doing even better at saving civilian lives if Saddam was not so willing to risk them to save himself.

And as Andrew Sullivan has been demonstrating for some time now, backed up by David Warren's current column, the BBC should no longer be considered a reliable news source.

In fact, the opposite.

According to The Agonist the crater is too small for coalition ordinance. It looks like air defense, which would make these civilians the Iraqi's collateral damage.
