BEST WAR NEWS SITES:
For war news I find Rantburg indispensable. Founded by former CIA analyst Fred Pruitt, it now has numerous posters from multiple countries, most with military or intelligence backgrounds, who often find stories I would never otherwise reach.
Instapundit has just recommended The Command Post, which looks good.
Any other recommendations?
Posted by Paul Jaminet at March 24, 2003 7:07 AMMost people here already know this but The Corner is great for up-to-the-minute discussion, links and rebuttals.
A good one now is how the recently released Hussein tape could well have been a fake since he barely mentions his palace and one of the commanders he praised in the 11th Brigade has already surrendered.
blogsofwar.com has a constant stream of news updates (little opinion, just facts)
Command post, rantburg, and the corner are the other ones worth checking. Only problem with the Corner is that war items get buried between 20 posts regarding Jonah's dog, culteral issues, or other OT stuff
I'd take comments about fog of war etc.
seriously and save your time by not trying to
follow a fluid military situation from 8,000 miles
away. Let things lag about 24 hours. Won't
hurt you any.
Remember the Geo. Price cartoon about news
bulletins on the half hour and "damn homing
pigeons in between." (Hope I didn't violate
Orrin's politeness rules, that's a direct quotation.)
I've included links to these sites at the BrothersJudd Liberate Iraq page
