CONSCIENCE, NOT CONSCIOUS:
U.S., Allies Could be Prosecuted for Iraq War - Experts (Thalif Deen, Jan 30, 2003, IPS)The United States and allies who attack Iraq without United Nations sanction could face international legal action, even though Washington has opted out of the new International Criminal Court (ICC), experts and peace activists said Thursday.''For the first time since the end of the cold war, an act of deliberate aggression is being advanced under the pretext of legality by a major power,'' James E. Jennings, president of Conscience International, told IPS.
''The U.S. refusal to join the International Criminal Court will not permit its leaders to escape trial before a world court and other international tribunals on war crimes charges,'' he warned.
How does the joke go, about the ant who demanded that the elephant submit to his amorous intentions? Posted by Orrin Judd at February 3, 2003 6:52 PM
I suggest we make a Non-International Non-Criminal Court. The purpose of the NNC would be to try ICC judges whenever they try citizens of non-signatories to the ICC treaty for acts committed in non-signatory countries. The charge would be imperialism, nad the punishment would be the traditional end for French royalists: the guillotine.

Posted by: TJ Jackson at February 3, 2003 9:52 PMMy first reaction is "bring it on." Go vote to bell the cat, and we'll find out which one of you is insane enought to try to follow through with it. Especially since you won't have the US military to do your dirty work for you, like in Yugoslavia.
Maybe in a few years will be rid of all these uselss international organizations.
