MIGHTY FREAKIN' WHITE OUT THERE:

After Snow Falls, It Gets Down in the Dumps (Kristina Eddy, 1/11/03, Valley News)
Between October and yesterday, 75 inches of snow had fallen in Lebanon, according to AccuWeather.com. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service could not provide numbers for comparison to last winter, but said this season's totals were already approaching the average for a whole season and in places had exceeded last year's, which was, however, a light year for snow.

More snow was forecast for today.

You can't even see at most intersections around here because the snow is piled so high. Posted by Orrin Judd at January 11, 2003 9:46 AM

It's global warming!! Don't you see?!

75 inches is about the record for Boston - for a full winter.

Matt Drudge is big on weather - last week he ran a big headline "75 in Peoria - shirt sleeves in Dakota!" and this week he ran "coldest 2 weeks in history!" Fortunately, global warming theories are flexible enough to predict warmth, cold, snow, and drought.

And according to my Weather Channel addicted husband this is the coldest winter in Florida since 1859 or thereabouts. Don't cry for us, though, because it is still in the high 60's and sunny.

Man here in Nebraska the last time we had snow was a week before Halloween. It has been cold here this winter, but it has also been warm. Tuesday it was 70 and Thursday it was 35. Today the high is 26.

Funny, the webcam seems to be buried in black snow tonight.

PJ - I believe Boston broke 100 inches in '93-94 and again a few years later. I remember 93-94 becuase our house building was delayed quite a while.

OJ - price you pay to live in majestic NH
