BE THE FIRST ON YOUR BLOCK TO OWN ONE:
Segway Human Transporter (Amazon.com)It's available to the public only through Amazon, for March 2003 delivery, and seems reasonably priced.

Reasonably priced? For a transportation device whose range is probably a few miles?
It seems to me that this is a bicycle for couch potatos.
Bingo!

Hehe, in the linked article "Defying Gravity", there's a mention that Segway's being very careful who they sell these guys to, since injury lawyers are already lining up to sue Segway the second someone get hurt riding one. But there's an obvious solution: only sell Segways to injury lawyers! Think of how easily they can zip around hospitals and pursue ambulances... :D
I just want to know how steep an incline it can go up or down before it becomes dangerous. I'm certainly not getting one right now, if ever, but I live on a pretty steep hill and so got to wondering about it...
I don't see a case for this without a cargo platform of some kind on it. If it let mail carriers take longer routes with a greater weight, that would be useful. In a large warehouse, such a thing would be good for picking parts to fill orders. For getting around town, I can walk or ride a bike; the Lord knows I could use the exercise.
