WHY DO WE NEED THE ONION?:

Non - Blacks Expelled at Conference (THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, 10/02/02)
Delegates at an anti-racism conference voted Wednesday to expel non-blacks from the meeting, saying it was too traumatic to discuss slavery in front of them.

The dozen or so whites and a couple of Asians, mainly interpreters and members of non-governmental groups, left without protest.

The more than 200 delegates from several countries voted overwhelmingly for the restriction, with about 50 abstaining, officials said.

The meeting, titled African and African Descendants' World Conference Against Racism, was hosted by the government of Barbados. Organizers included the Congress Against Racism Barbados and the U.S.-based Congress of People of African Descent.

I think I get it. In the other hemisphere, the seasons are reversed - not only is it Spring in the Southern Hemisphere, but October 1 should be their "April Fools Day". Hmm, dateline "Barbados". Couldn't have been "Antarctica". Well, bit of a head-scratcher.

Gee, maybe those that voted for throwing out all non-blacks because they were "traumatized" should be placed in a mental institution. Such peculiar paranoia should be cured with all due care... and all due straitjackets and butterfly nets...

One thing I really should have mentioned is that there are no white people alive who owned slaves, while the institution still exists in black Africa (the Sudan for one).

From what countries were those 50 delegates? Anyone know? Maybe there is racial tolerance out there.
