THREE GENERATIONS OF IMBECILES ARE ENOUGH:
Kennedy: Bush Iraq Plan a 'Pearl Harbor in Reverse' (NewsMax, Oct. 7, 2002)Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., said Monday that U.S. plans for preemptive action against Iraq reminded him of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor 61 years ago.Debating President Bush's request for congressional authority to make war, Kennedy warned the Senate that a U.S. Iraq attack would be "a Pearl Harbor in reverse," according to the Associated Press.
C'mon, even we don't think FDR was as bad as Saddam Hussein. Of course the Kennedys are infamous appeasers of dictators. Joe Kennedy was pro-Hitler. Jack had a serious affair with a Nazi spy and later agreed to leave Castro in permanent control of Cuba. RFK wanted to cut and run in Vietnam. Now comes Ted to try and rescue Saddam. Thankfully he's not in the driver's seat of American foreign policy. Posted by Orrin Judd at October 8, 2002 8:20 AM
Ah yes, how well I remember the year long debate in Japan leading up to Pearl Harbor, the votes in the Diet, the petitions to the League of Nations for multilaterial action against the US. It's uncanny.
Posted by: David Cohen at October 8, 2002 7:48 AMI don't recall JFK marrying his Nazi spy, Inga Arvad. His first (?) wife, Durie Malcolm was a Balm Beach socialite . IIRC.

Posted by: Peter at October 8, 2002 8:22 AMWell, in Teddy's defense, he did say "...in Reverse".
Logically, I suppose this means that the US would have to describe in intimate detail its impending attack on Saddam for months, even years, in advance, and then ultimately, not attack at all....
Cornet:
I think it's in Thomas Reeves; A Question of Character and in The Crisis Years by Beschloss, though Beschloss may not offer evidence of the marriage.
Her name was Inga Arvad. He had an affair with her before he went to the South Pacific. I believe I first read about her in Blair's "The Search for JFK" c. 1976.
Posted by: George at October 8, 2002 9:24 AMI don't think Teddo could even fit in a driver's seat anymore.
