Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will compete this fall in key battleground states where economic growth has been outpacing the modest national average.Economic output expanded in early 2016 across the majority of states, including four of the biggest prizes up for grabs in the November presidential election: Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Together, the four swing states offer a combined 80 electoral votes, more than a quarter of the total needed to win the White House. None of the four saw growth slower than the national average in the final three months of 2015 and the first three months of 2016, according to newly released Commerce Department data.
