6. The social marginal value of health care is often quite low, much lower than I used to realize.  By the way, hardly anyone takes this on consistently to guide their policy views, no matter how evidence-driven they may claim to be.


This example is why we'll end up with universal HSAs. The electorate in modern democracies demands universal health care, but doesn't need it.  So we'll provide a baseline level of coverage but put the rest of the money into accounts that will grow wealth, which they actually do need.
