Upper Valley Is Realistic on Ebola Scare (Rob Wolfe, 10/27/14, Valley News)

Upper Valley residents on Sunday took a stoic outlook on preparations from local health authorities for fighting Ebola, which in the last week has spread to New York City and spurred national debate on how best to balance health safety measures with aid to disease-stricken West Africa.

"Panic is not a response," said Brian Tompkins, a stonemason from Norwich, of ideas like banning travel from West African countries to the United States. "It's unreasonable."
