DODGING TAXES IN A LOW TAX STATE:

In a new digital ad today, Republican 2nd District congressional hopeful Marilinda Garcia will bring up an uncomfortable topic for Democratic U.S. Rep. Anne Kuster - her admitted failure to pay about $40,000 in property taxes on time over a three-year period.

 

When the issue arose in 2013, Kuster quickly paid what at that point was about $11,000 in past due bills and apologized.

 

She later said that while she came from an affluent family, "Life is expensive, and it caught up to us. So look, I apologize. I can't change what happened. I regret that it happened."
