Anne Francis, 'Forbidden Planet' and 'Honey West' star, dies at age 80 in Santa Barbara (Soraya Roberts, 1/03/11, NY DAILY NEWS)
The former child star had roles in more than 30 movies -- including "Bad Day at Black Rock" and "Funny Girl"-- but she became a cult figure in the 1956 MGM movie "Forbidden Planet" co-starring Leslie Nielsen."I got that part because I was under contract to MGM and I had good legs," Francis told Starlog magazine in a 1992 interview, according to the Times.
But Francis is best known in the mainstream as the star of "Honey West" in which she played a seductive private eye with a pet ocelot.
