That the penalty shoot-out is somehow football's equivalent of Russian roulette with journalists bemoaning that a game at this level should be decided in such a manner.

...using the shoot-out in meaningful games has to rank up there. It's like deciding the World Series with a homerun derby if Game 7 is tied.
