Poll: Abortion funding a key issue (JESSICA TAYLOR, 3/4/10, Politico)
The polls, conducted by the polling company, inc./Woman Trend for the Susan B. Anthony List, a group which backs pro-life female candidates for office, surveyed voters in the House districts held by Reps. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.), Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), Brad Ellsworth (D-Ind.), Baron Hill (D-Ind.), Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio), Charlie Wilson (D-Ohio), Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) and John Boccieri (D-Ohio)—many of whom face competitive reelection challenges this fall.Posted by Orrin Judd at March 5, 2010 6:40 AMIn live interviews with 300 voters in each district, at least three in five respondents agreed that federal abortion funding should not be included in a health care bill. When asked, regardless of their personal opinion on abortion, if abortion should be included as part of the bill, opposition in all eight districts ranged from 66 percent to 81 percent.
