TOO FU MANCHU TO BE TRUE:

China now faces unrest from majority Han Chinese (Saibal Dasgupta, 4 September 2009, TNN)

Crowds of Han Chinese continued to protest for the second day today saying the local government has not done enough to protect them from the bizarre attacks by miscreants using syringes with needles to attack innocent people in the past few days. [...]

In a rare development, the crowds began naming the local Communist Party secretary, Wang Lequan, in their slogan shouting, reports reaching here said. The local party boss lords over the both the government and the party setup in provinces and it is unusual for anyone to question him.

Some people were seen arguing with the police and blaming them for failure to protect the lives of Han Chinese from insurgents working for the cause for creating an independent East Turkmenistan nation for Uighurs.

That's gotta be a rumor, it's just too inefficient a means of attack. Though it does have the nice whiff of Sax Rohmer to it....
