SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE: VEEP PULLS BACK PATERSON SUPPORT (NY Post, 6/02/09)

A day after the White House charged headlong into the state's brewing Democratic civil war, when loose-tongued Vice President Joe Biden offered Gov. Paterson a seeming endorsement for the 2010 gubernatorial race, the gaffe-prone veep took it back.

"It was a statement of friendship and admiration for the governor, and was not intended as a political statement," Biden's office said in a statement this afternoon.

On Monday night, Biden had showed the embattled Paterson support.

"Your once and future governor of the state of New York has been extremely generous to Barack and to me and has been a major part of us trying to put this economy back together," he said at a party fund-raiser with Paterson.

...is that no one even realizes this guy exists.
