DOES A DEFEAT OF OSCAR COUNT THAT MUCH MORE THAN A LOSS TO FLOYD?:
The Pacman’s demolition of boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya back in December effectively ended the Golden Boy’s career and established Pacquiao as a serious marque fighter.
But did it really? Or are people reading too much into the manner of Pacquiao’s victory over De La Hoya?
Billy Graham, Hatton’s former trainer of 11 years certainly thinks so.
'Anybody who takes any notice of that fight is wrong,' he said. 'That wasn’t Oscar in the ring that night. He was crippled at the weigh in. Pacquiao beat a broken shell of a man that night. That means nothing.'
Still, those in the know continue to write off Hatton. He’s too fat, too slow or ill equipped to deal with Pacquiao’s southpaw stance.
