House Puts Off Vote on Bid to Remove Rangel (Bennett Roth, 2/04/09, CQ)

House Republicans have repeatedly called for Rangel to step down.

“This body has a high duty and obligation to conduct itself in a way that restores public confidence in the integrity of this institution,” Carter said in a statement. “When charges of this magnitude are pending against a member, the House must respond in a way that achieves that goal.”

This is the perfect time for the GOP to go after Rangel, Murtha and company and tie their corruption in to the Obama appointees.
