GOD BLESS THE SALMON:

Peanut Butter Blues (Charles P. Pierce, February 8, 2009, Boston Globe)

Peanut butter? Of all the fundamentals of American life that I've come to distrust, I now have to lose faith in peanut butter? It seems that in Georgia, some salmonella got mixed in with some peanut butter and it turns out that it mixes with it rather less well than do grape jelly, Marshmallow Fluff, or Reese's chocolate. This makes salmonella the only thing that doesn't go well with peanut butter.

In all my years doing the grocery shopping the one thing that's bugged me most is that peanut butter almost never goes on sale. Until this month, that is. It was two dollars a jug off last week.
