Productivity Revised Higher for Third Quarter (Wall Street Journal, 12/03/08)

U.S. productivity during the third quarter climbed even more than first thought while output dropped, as companies slashed payrolls in response to a sinking economy.

Non-farm business productivity rose by 1.3%, at an annual rate, in the third quarter from the prior quarter, the Labor Department said Wednesday, an unexpected upward revision from an originally estimated 1.1% increase.


...could be cut by 25 or 30% without producing a smidge less. White collar jobs are a social program.
