TAKING BACK THE HOUSE:

Horn Defeats Clegg For 2nd District Nomination (WMUR, September 9, 2008)

Jennifer Horn defeated State Sen. Bob Clegg and three other candidates in a tight race for the Republican nomination for the 2nd Congressional District on Tuesday.

Bradley Defeats Stephen In 1st District Race (WMUR, 9/09/08)
Jeb Bradley defeated John Stephen for the Republican nomination in the 1st Congressional District on Tuesday. [...]

Bradley will now have a rematch with Democratic U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter. He lost his congressional seat to Shea-Porter in 2006, but he said he will better represent New Hampshire.

One of the reasons the Beltway biffed the GOP nomination fight so badly is they didn't get how popular Maverick remains here, in no small part because NH helped launch him in 2000. These are the sorts of seats he can carry just by virtue of being at the top of the ticket.
