Wolfmother's journey from pubs to a Grammy (Iain Shedden, February 13, 2007, The Australian)

WOLFMOTHER'S singer and guitarist, Andrew Stockdale, looked a little bemused as he picked up the band's first Grammy award yesterday.

"This doesn't happen very often at all, in Australia, to any band," the afro-haired frontman said as the Sydney band collected the best hard rock performance trophy at the American music industry gala in Los Angeles.

The trio beat big-name American acts such as Tool and Nine Inch Nails to take the award for their song Woman, taken from the group's million-selling self-titled debut album.

Oh, to be 15 again...right down to the Frank Frazetta cover. Boris Vallejo must have been busy.
