ROOM TO THE RIGHT:

Britain's Labour, Tories neck-and-neck, UKIP surges: estimate (EU Business, 14 June 2004)

Britain's ruling Labour and opposition Conservatives were set to have equal numbers of MEPs in a new EU parliament, while the eurosceptic UK Independence Party has surged to 17 seats, a projection said Monday.

According to the estimate based on partial results, Prime Minister Tony Blair's party was set to win 19 seats, the same as the Conservatives, and only two more than UKIP which had just three MEPs in the outgoing parliament.

Should have listened to The Lady.
