THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

On this day in 1927, Charles A. Lindbergh landed his plane near Paris. If all you know of him is the Nazi-sympathizer caricature that FDR and his other political enemies hung on him, both his own self-written, Pulitzer-winning memoir, The Spirit of St. Louis, and A. Scott Berg's recent biography, Lindbergh, are outstanding. Posted by Orrin Judd at May 21, 2003 9:19 AM
